Minnesota is home to a dedicated community of cartoonists, many of whom are featured in an exhibit opening this Friday at Altered Esthetics gallery in Minneapolis. A handful of the artists represented in the show Lutefisk Sushi D are also profiled in a forthcoming book by Britt Aamodt, Superheroes, Strip Artists, & Talking Animals. Britt coaxes twenty-three contemporary artists from Minnesota’s burgeoning cartoonist community to talk about one of America’s most colorful, irreverent, misunderstood, and sometimes demonized art forms. Look for the book in stores in November.
