Over the years I have become increasingly concerned about the heavy, and nearly exclusive dependance on using the internet for research. No one can argue that it is an incredible tool for both professional and casual researchers; providing quick and easy answers to straight forward questions of fact. So I want to congratulate you for publishing a book, a print book, that will remind readers of the importance of primary sources and the real pleasure of discovery. Hopefully the book will inform and inspire a new generation of researchers, perhaps students participating in History Day who have never opened a file box of personal letters, or read old type written notes from civic organizations, or felt the thick embossed binding of first editions.
