Dalai Lama

The supreme head of Tibetan Buddhism, considered the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people.

debate

Noun:  An argument or discussion of opposing views or different ideas.

Verb:  To participate in a debate; to dispute, argue, especially in a public arena.  (debates, debating, debated)

Verb:  To damage or spoil the appearance of something.  (defaces, defacing, defaced)

default

Noun: A selection made automatically or without thought, ususally due to lack of another choice.

deficiency

Noun:  Inadequacy or incompleteness; missing something.

dehydrated

Adjective:  Dry; suffering from lack of water. 

delegation

Noun:  A group of people who represent the interests of a larger group.

deliberate

Adjective: Intentional; on purpose.

delinquency

Noun:  Misconduct or criminal behavior.

demonstrate

Verb:  To display; to show; to prove.  (demonstrates, demonstrating, demonstrated)

denounce

Verb: To make a formal or public accusation against; to inform against; to accuse. (denounces, denouncing, denounced)

dense

Adjective:  Crowded with information.

deny

Verb:   To refuse to admit; to say something is false.  (denies, denying, denied)

dependent

Noun:  A person who legally relies on another person for financial support.

deport

Verb: To force a person who is not a citizen to leave a country. (deports, deported, deporting)

depression

Noun:  A state of mind producing serious, long-term unhappiness or inability to visualize a happy future.

Noun: The act of taking something away or denying someone something.

Noun:  Lineage or hereditary derivation.

destiny

Noun: Fate; that to which a person is destined.

detain

Verb:  To be held back; to be placed into police custody.  (detains, detaining, detained)

Noun: A person imprisoned or held in custody, especially for political reasons.

Adjective:  Dedicated to following a course of action; decided; resolute.

Verb:  To take away; to withdraw or remove.  (detracts, detracting, detracted)

Noun: A cause of harm or damage.

Adjective:  Dedicated; committed to something.

Noun:  Feelings of strong dedication.

Adjective:  Devoted to religion or to religious feelings and duties; absorbed in religious exercises; given to devotion; pious; reverent; religious.

Noun: A particular form of a language that is peculiar to a specific region or social group.

Noun: A division into or distinction between two groups that differ greatly.

Noun: A ruler with total power over a country, typically one who has gained power by force.

diplomat

Noun:  An official representative of a government that represents that government when interacting with a separate government.

disciplinarian

Noun: One who punishes others for bad behavior or teaches others to obey authority.

Verb:  To make decisions based on fear or hatred towards a particular group, race or religion..  (discriminates, discriminating, discriminated)

Noun:  Unfair treatment of an individual or group based on their religion, ethnicity, or other reason.

Verb: To move something or someone, especially to forcibly move people from their homeland (displaces, displacing, displaced).

Adjective:  Noticeably different; different from one another.

Adjective:  Twisted; deformed; misshapen.

Adjective:  Having one's attention diverted; preoccupied.

Adjective: Different.

Noun:  The quality of being diverse or different; difference or unlikeness; variety.

Noun:  An official paper that provides proof of something, like birth or citizenship.

documentation

Noun: Proof of something in the form of documents or papers.

Noun:  Short for dormitory, a building or part of a building which houses students, soldiers, monks, etc., who sleep there and use communal facilities.

Adjective:  Inactive; asleep; suspended.

Noun:  Property or payment given by a wife or her family to a husband at the time of marriage.
