This frame originally had four wooden decorative pieces, one on each corner. When is came into the conservation lab, only one corner piece was extant, two other corners were partially damaged and had lost significant parts, and one corner piece was completely lost. The one whole piece was removed from the frame and used to make a silicone mold. Then the loose pieces were set into the mold and a cast was made for the lost parts. For the completely lost corner decoration element, a complete restoration was made. After carving, sanding and finishing the castings, the areas of loss were painted to match the original areas of the wood.
