Abraham Lincoln ribbon
Abraham Lincoln was inaugurated as president for the first time on March 4, 1861. The election of 1860 revealed a conflicted United States. Four candidates were on the ballot, and Republican nominee Lincoln won with very little support from Southern voters. Between Election Day in November and Inauguration Day in March, seven Southern states seceded from the Union. The Confederate States of America was born from those seven states on March 11, one week after Lincoln became president.
This ribbon is a badge commemorating Lincoln's inauguration. It is attached to a piece of cardboard, and features an American flag and an image of Lady Liberty.
