Abraham Lincoln's funeral program
After President Lincoln died on April 15, 1865, his remains traveled by train more than 1,000 miles over the next three weeks, finally laying to rest in Springfield, Illinois on May 3. Lincoln's coffin made 14 stops along the way, including a funeral and public viewing in Chicago on May 1. This program for the Chicago funeral includes the names of pall bearers, a mounted honor guard, and general processors, as well as an invitation to the public to attend Lincoln's laying in state and funeral procession.
