Collapsible bucket

Norman Claussen of St. Paul used this collapsible bucket when he was serving in the Field Artillery of Mexican Border Patrol and World War I. The bucket is made of canvas and collapses almost flat. Collapsible buckets are still used today, by soldiers, firefighters, campers, and anglers.

Claussen was a corporal in the Minensota National Guard when he attended the first officer training camp at Fort Snelling in 1917. He died on October 27, 1918 and is buried in St. Paul.
