The second Minnesota State Fair
The Second Minnesota State Fair was held at Fort Snelling in 1860. It was the first fair to feature a display of farm machinery and featured exhibits of agriculture, livestock, needlework, handicrafts, and cookery. The State Fair of 1860 was the last for two years since the fair was cancelled in 1861 and 1862 due to the Civil War.
