In 1915, the original Tomahawk publisher Gus Beaulieu reconnected with the White Earth newspaper as publisher and editor. He began to include more articles that focused on full citizenship rights for American Indians. This edition, published six days before Beaulieu's death, includes front-page articles on American Indian citizenship and voting, a New Ulm draft protest, and the names of local Ojibwe men who were drafted.
