1864: An Election Like No Other

By the fall of 1864, the outcome of the Civil War hinged as much on the ballot box as the battlefield. The battle for Atlanta before the November election and the March to the Sea that followed, influenced the election & the outcome of the war. Minnesotans were again on the front lines of history.
