David Geister has painted a variety of images for various clients and institutions, all relating to the Civil War or U.S.- Dakota War of 1862. His oil on canvas painting, "Keepers of the Flame", honors the Minnesotans who answered their state and country's call from 1861 to 1865. It was painted for Boys of 61, Minnesota Civil War Monument Project and will be reproduced as a limited edition print. He is currently finishing a birds-eye view of the famous charge of the First Minnesota Regiment at Gettysburg and planning a close-up view of the same moment.
