Jenny Lee 1910s-1930s

Jenny Lee "Jenny Lee" was an early women’s specialty shop catering to fashionable women shopping for Paris models and custom clothing. The garments in the MNHS collection from this shop date from 1910s to 1930s.

There were Jenny Lee shops in both Minneapolis and St. Paul. Jenny Lee Frocks at 1007 Nicollet Avenue was owned by Charlotte R. Lund, whose husband, Laurence was employed at Atkinson Milling Company of Minneapolis. The St. Paul store, Jenny Lee Inc, at 416 St. Peter, was managed by Mrs. Jessie G. Ritzinger. Both stores specialized in imported women’s apparel.
