Métis Coat Every object tells a story.

This coat belonged to Alexander Ramsey, Minnesota's first territorial governor. Coats of this type were made by Ojibwe, Cree, and Eastern Dakota Indians. They were also made by Red River Métis, descendants of European fur traders and their Indian wives.
